What Foods are your 8-10 month olds eating?

I want to start Noah on more variety before Table food ( which my Ped starts at 9 and 1/2 months) ..

I was thinking this week of trying..
Toast strips
Pasta( I got the Earths best organic sesame street one today)
Cheddar Cheese strips

What else?

He eats purees of most fruits and veggies..and yogurt and doesnt liek Eggs or avacados.

what other finger foods or purees or mixes or table foods??

and am I the only one still worried about choking?

Do those on more table food really not take too much at once or choke on something long ( like cheese or fruits wedges?)

TIA!

ds is a huge gagger and i hate doing finger foods with him b/c he always throws up.Chat Icon so i'm not much help with what we've tried.

but i read in a parenting mag. that for children under 1:
cut pieces about the size of a pea or your pinkie fingernail. once they can gum and hold food and have some teeth: cut foods into strips about the length and thickness of their pinkie finger.

hth a bit.

Lucas has such an aweful gag reflex and I have to admit that I have been holding off on table food but I am going to start this week. My ped recommended using the food mill for the meats and mixing it with the pureed food. So we are going to try chicken with sweet potatoes. Then we'll move on to more things. He seems to be doing really well with the puffs.

I also noticed that he gags less when he feeds himself. But of course that makes me even more nervous Chat Icon

I need to let go

DD has four teeth now, with a 5th on its way. I have to start her on table foods but have no idea where to start.

Re: What Foods are your 8-10 month olds eating?

DD is 10 months and I have given her chicken nuggets cut up, polly-o string cheese (I'll hold it and let her bite off little pieces), pastina, corned beef (we were eating it one night and I gave her aliitle and she loved it), mini pancakes. She hates the jar meats so I don't give those at all. I'm a nervous wreck when I feed her table food but she already has 6 teeth so I figured I should start.

My son had HORRIBLE gag reflux...but now that he is eating table food it is sooo much better as well!

I am very nervous about choking, but I just cut things up small.

My son is 9 months old and he eats:

Cheerios
small pieces of hambuger
chicken
mashed potatoes
eggs
grilled cheese (this is his favorite)
mac and cheese
pancakes
cheese
ravioli (with butter, not sauce--he wasnt a huge fan)
little cheese doodle things from gerber

I have been living under a rock, I had no idea that at these ages babies eat all of this food Chat Icon My DD is just about 8 months, and we don't go back to the ped until 9 months, guess I'll wait to talk to him until then.
