I always read that you should avoid eating/ drinking the same things as you would once you get a BFP, but I'm wondering how strict people actually are in the 2WW.

I really don't change anything. Maybe that's why I'm not pg.....

But your baby will not share the same blood supply as you until 5w. So most all of us do not change anything.

I don't eat Sushi......but that's the only thing....

Last month I cut down on my caffeine intake, didn't really cut down on food. Not sure what food I should cut down on. Maybe limit the amount of fish? HTH

The only thing I change was to cut down on coffee - but that's more so I can ease my way off of it Chat Icon

I have also been careful about OTC medicines - I have a killer cold right now and I'm only using OTCs that OK during PG - that is probably not necessary, but I decided it couldn't hurt.

I've heard certain things like caffeine & alcohol can affect fertility...but who knows.

I cut back on nothing. After nine months of TTC, life is too short for "what ifs".

Agreed!! I'm not a big caffine drinker so it's not a big deal for me to cut out my diet coke.

I have cut back on nothing myself. Selfishly, I feel like making sacrifices in that window just lends itself to me potentially setting myself up for more disappointment in the end.

I really haven't changed much for the 2WW. I make the changes when I get the BFP.

In fact, I'm sipping a Malibu Breeze as I type this Chat Icon

Re: What foods/ drinks do you avoid during the 2WW?

I have cut out caffeine completely, there are new studies showing that caffeine can increase your risk for miscarriage.

I also have cut out alcohol and diet sodas.

While the embryo doesn't share your blood supply until the 5th week think about the effects that caffeine and alcohol have on our system, it has to play somewhat of a role so i'm not taking any chances.

Everyone is different and needs to do what they are comfortable with!
