What happens at the 16 week appointment?
Just wondering what to expect. Is there an internal exam?

just a regular appt, no internal. I don't remember anything "special" at that one.

At my 16 week, they just checked weight and Listened to the heartbeat with the Doppler. It was very quick.

I agree, nothing out of the ordinary.
They will probably just discuss the 20 week appt, if you have to go out for your sono, your bloodwork, etc.
Most of the appts are unevenful overall. Its great to hear the heartbeat but other than that not much happens.
Good Luck

Re: What happens at the 16 week appointment?
I had an appointment yesterday at 14 weeks and then I get seen in 3 more weeks at 17 weeks... At that appointment, they are taking blood for the AFP test plus the usual--urine, blood pressure, weight and doppler....
no internals until week 36 I think???
On another note, I went to make my appointment for my 20 week sono at LIJ, and can you believe that they don't have the calendar yet for January??? Actually so typical... so now I have to call everyday to see if the January schedule is done because I need the earliest appointment... How annoying!!!!
