what helps ur dc's diaper rash?

it's ds's 1st diaper rash , i always use a wipe, blot dry, then use aquaphor. now i've been using butt paste on the rash, i've also tried baby powder. he's had it about 1 week and it seems to be getting worse not better.

could it be b/c of the huggie goodnight diapers i just started using?

what creams work best? any other tips?

i tried them all...he just got his first bad rash, and even hough my doc swears by aquaphor, i like triple paste so much better.

I know a lot of people swear by the buttpaste but it didn't work for DD - I found using Desitin original worked well with some cornstarch baby powder.

If it is a new type of diaper that could be the issue

the only thing that worked for us is triple paste, it is more expensive than other stuff but totally worth it!

Butt paste worked for DD's really bad rash, but triple paste is also really good.

DD had a diaper rash once - she slept all night after pooping right after she fell asleep (over 9 hrs)! It was just a small area that was irritated & we used desitin & within a day it started to go away. Normally, we don't put anything on her, just wipes & a diaper & she doesn't get them.

Triple Paste. I just picked up some more today. They have it at CVS and Target. Expensive, but a little goes a long way and it works!

If the rash doens't seem to be going away, it may be a fungal infection, and you would need a RX for Nystatin for that.

I use triple paste when there is a rash- then Aquaphor once the rash is gone.

I also find that letting DD doing "naked tummy time" for an hour helps too.

DD had one due to an overnight poopy as well. Actually Balmex seemed to clear it right up.

Butt Paste works better than Balmex for DS. I also like that it's not as thick and greesy.

I just use powder and it gets better in a day or so.

you will laugh but ds had 2 bad diaper rashes and i coated his butt in maalox, then air dried, triple paste and left the diaper off as long as possible. the improvement by the next morning is remarkable!
