What I needed to hear today...
Obviously, I didn't hear from Dumpster's weak, mundane, and forced ("ok ok I disavow") speech about antisemitism. It was monotone, and way too late. Here's what I think should have said: "Antisemitism has no place here in the US" "It will not be tolerated" "Fully prosecuted as a hate crime" "I will not stand for it"

Couldn't agree more. He needed to state emphatically that it is not to be tolerated and that hate, in any form is completely unacceptable and that any perpetrators will be fully prosecuted. He really makes me sick every time he opens his mouth

Agreed. Sean spicer also had me pissed off at yesterday's briefing. He emphasized that at some point we have to see the issue as "asked and answered". Ummm, no. It had not been sufficiently addressed at all and these events keep happening so clearly we need more.

Re: What I needed to hear today...
When he speaks/tweets, the world is listening and analyzing. When he says FAKE NEWS, it's sending a message beyond those words that many are interpreting in a historical context. When he doesn't fully address a subject that many find terrifying he is perpetuating the terror. I didn't care for George W Bush, but I distinctly remember his words in the aftermath of 9/11 and finding them calming and comforting which is a necessary thing when a nation is raw and hurting.
