What is a good price? Consignment clothes?
There is a HUGE Children's consignment sale here by me in NC twice a year. I usually just shop it, but this time I actually remembered to sign up as a consignor. I have over 350 clothing items not including other stuff, toys, etc.
The normal range of prices they said for individual clothing items are from $2.00-$7.00.
What would you price these items?
Carter's t-shirts and shorts and Jumping Beans tshirts, tanks and shorts? They're all in excellent condition. And then sets too? Also, Children's Place shorts.
Do you think $3.00 a piece is fair or too much? I'm pricing the no name brands at $2.00 depending on what it is. And for sets I was pricing them at $4.00? I only get 65% of each item's price and then what ever is left of mine will be marked down to 50% off at some point.
Thanks!

I would price the stuff so it moves. You don't want to be bringing it home, because then what will you do with it?
$3 is too much for Jumping Beans and Carters. $2, if that's the minimum you can price them. Jumping Beans is very cheap at Kohls, like $4 new. I would pay $4 for a dress if it's in EUC, same with jeans if they are Gap/Gymbo/Old Navy, etc. Off brands, price at like $2-3. Sets for $4 depends on the brand.

Re: What is a good price? Consignment clothes?
I am a new parent, so my thoughts may be off.
For me, most of what I have bought at Carters has run me about 5 for sets. I have not bought seperates. I wait for sales and coupons and save a ton. I can get an entire wardrobe for like $50 for my son. I only shop once in a while, but I shop smart. I have no problem with used clothes and consignment. But, if I knew that I could get a set for $5 at Carters brand new, then I would not pay $4 for used. But that is me. And sets are exceptionally versatile, as I can mix and match with other pants and jeans. We do this all the time.

Thanks for the good advice. I've never "sold" at a consignment sale only at yard sales so I wasn't sure what to price them at.
