The words I cherish are "The days are long but the years are short." It's so true.

Best advice I ever got was "whatever works for you"

I say this to myself ALOT...it can be when I am feeding her, rocking her or playing with her and I think...I am NEVER going to get THIS moment back. Chat Icon

My mom told me --- Yes, there are things you "should" do but in the end -- do what works!

My mom always told me that housework can wait but spending quality time with the baby can't. I live by that now when I have dishes in the sink that haven't been washed and other things that need to be done around the house but I am playing with DD. Those things will be there when she naps or goes in for the night and that's when I catch up on it all.

Don't worry about being a perfect Mother- just being the "good-enough" mother- didn't get this until I was one!Chat Icon

There are a few I keep in mind all the time.

1) Get down on the floor and play with your children. They really love it.

2) The housework will still be there. If your baby wants you to read to them, don't pass up that moment. Stop, and sit and read even if just for a few minutes.

3) My mom always said "Little children = little problems; bigger children = bigger problems". It helps me keep things in perspective with her right now. Knowing that the "problems" I'm having are really pretty minor and for me to keep up my strength for the years to come! Chat Icon
