What is a pregnancy scan???
Has anyone ever been for a pregnancy scan? I had to make another appointment at the re for next friday and the doctor said it was for a pregnancy scan? Exactly what is that anyway? I was too nervous to ask so I just said ok but I have no idea what it is??? Anyone??

My RE never did anything called a pregnancy scan, if they did, they never said it to me. I just had a few sonograms at their office (there were 2 sacs at first but nothing was forming in the 2nd one) and then they released me to my OB at 8 weeks.

Sme with me, I went to an Re and they only did sono's. Not sure what a pregnancy scan is. What place did you go to? Maybe its something unique to that office.

My doctor sent me for a fetal anatomy scan. It was the same as the level II.

I found this info on the web:
The early pregnancy scan will show the following;-
Demonstrate the baby's heartbeat from about 6 weeks gestation.
Determine gestational age & due date.
Confirm pregnancy from 5 weeks
Diagnose multiple pregnancy
Determine pelvic masses
