What is a tree-trimming party?
We were invited to one by someone we don't know that well personally and I have no clue what it's all about.
Is it just a cute name for a holiday party? Or do you actually decorate the tree? Are you supposed to bring an ornament or something?
Totally clueless here.

I'm sure you're going to be decorating the tree. Not sure if you have to bring an ornament or not. I would though. It would be a nice gesture.

Yes, it's usually to decorate, and I'd probably bring an ornament, but I don't think the host would except/require you to, because that's just greedy!

My neighbor had one last year. Could not understand why they couldn't buy and decorate their own tree and needed everyone else to do it-lol!!
I personally would just invite people over for a party and have my tree done before they arrive!

We roll up newspaper and wrap our lights around that when we take them off the tree each year. We haven't had tangled lights in years.
I personally don't like the idea of a tree trimming party. Decorating the tree is something we do together - JUST US. I also find it somewhat uncomfortable to decorate someone else's tree. We had to do this at my IL's last TG (yeah, a little early for the tree - they're like Macys there...) and I hated it. I am HOPING they don't make us do it again this year when we stop by (only for a couple hours) on our way home from MD. Ill be ****** if we stop in to say hello, can only stay a couple hours, and have to decorate their tree while they film it all (I HATE VIDEO CAMERAS, but my ILs don't seem to care...) But I digress. (Not happy with the ILs these days...)
