What is baby wearing home from the hospital?

And what size are you getting? Please post pics, I need ideas.

I got a ton of clothes at my shower but I think I might want to get something else for Chat Icon to wear home...

I'm definitely thinking of bringing the bundle me, and you should too. It's snowing outside!

Just my opinion, but a t-shirt is better than a onsie for coming home because of the belly button. The hopsital recommended that with DD #1, so my mom went and got me one.

Really? So they shouldn't were a onesee until it's healed?

omg this is almost the same outfit we plan on having Chat Icon wear home from the hospital. I got a bunch of 0-3 clothes at my shower and something similar to this is probably what we're going to go with.

I had wanted to get a cute dress, but I figured it's going to be cold and she's going to be bundled up anyway.

I think it was till it fell off, I can not remember. You are always putting stuff on it to keep it clean and healthy, it is easier and I would think more comfy for the baby.

Didn't matter for us. Nothing was tight enough to irritate his belly button. I always had him in onesies and I couldn't imagine not using them in this cold.

ETA: We put NOTHING on his belly button and it just fell off, we were told not to touch it and only sponge baths until it did.

His circumscion we had to put AD on though.

All 3 of my babies went home in onesies.

My 3rd baby was born at 9 lbs 3.7 ounces and she still wore newborn size home. It fit her perfectly!

same here.

With my first baby I was told to clean it with alcohol and it took almost 6 weeks to fall off. With DD#1 I was told to leave it alone and it fell off by day 11. I also left it alone with DD#2 and it fell off in 7 days.

I keep reading this and I am SO SKEEVED by the umbilical cord (forgive me Chat Icon ) that I think I'm going to have to try this leaving it alone thing instead of using rubbing alcohol.

I'm going to wait to see if I get any cute layette pieces at my shower but to go on top, DH's grandma knit a sweater and hat for each of her grandsons' children about 6 years ago so we will definitely be using that Chat Icon

A cute outfit I bought at Kohls and a sweater and hat that my friends mom crocheted for DS.
