What is done at a TTC appt?

Had my pap in late August, early Sept. so hoping I do not have to get one, what will be discussed etc? I am going on Monday, meeting a new doctor at the same practice, and am curious for what I am " In For". PS Men have it so easy, they have no clue. I tried to wiggle out of the appointment but DH is insisiting I go becuase I will have met my new doctor, maybe be put on vitamins, yeah easy for him to say, also we have been TTC but not too seriously until this past month. DH has varcocles- aka verocose veins in his testicles- sorry for TMI. I am so nervous and hate to go to docotors, especially the ob/gyn. It seems like Monday is never going to get here so I can just get it overwith!

At my TTC appointment, I was put on prenatals, told to BD every other day starting on day 10 for 6 months because I am over 35. That was about it. I may have had blood work, but I dont remember. I did have genetic testing for being of Ashkenazi Jewish descent before I was married. Some other cultures are associated with certain disorders and people often get tested before TTC. That was about it.

Just came back from mine...

All she did was tell me I have to wait 2 months of being off the pill before we can try.

And to buy a specific prenatal.

I did my TTC appt at my yearly appt. He did a pap, sat us down and talked to us about family history/genetics, ok'd prenatals, and sent me off for blood tests for ethnic diseases in our family(Dh is of jewish decent, I have thalessima major and carriers in my family) and cystic fibrosis and STD's..
Told us to call him back when a pg test is positive.
