WHAT is going on??? (WAYYYY TMI)
So, I thought I O'd this month, according to the blood test, I didn't.
However...I've had SO much CM this month that I thought I had to be. Fast-forward to last night (I'm CD37), I go to the bathroom, wipe, and look down and notice a pretty large white glob (I'm so sorry if you're gagging right now) in my underwear. It actually looked like the pearly white Softsoap that I use in that bathroom--I'm wondering how it could have gotten on my underwear... .
When I investigated, I found it was CM! Thick and stringy. The blob was about the size of a quarter!
WHAT IS THIS??!!!! I took a FRER this morning, just to check, but it was BFN. I don't get this at all...

From what I know of PCOS, it's not unusual to have patches of CM at strange times during your cycle and this doesn't necessarily mean that O is coming.

What's odd is this: I never had this problem before starting the Metformin It really stinks--I never even used to GET CM before.

I am sorry. I hope it means o is coming! No matter what I think its a positive sign, its better to have fertile cm than none at all. Do you test in the afternoon or morning? With opks I usually get better results in the pm.

Re: WHAT is going on??? (WAYYYY TMI)
Women with PCOS have a tendency to create a lot of CM...it's because the hormone levels fluctuate drastically even though you may not ovulate. I would definitely talk to your RE about having bloodwork done to see if your progesterone levels are rising...this is the definite sign that you have ovulated.

I did have bloodwork to check the progesterone levels on CD30, and my RE called me back to let me know that my progesterone was <1. I'm now on CD38 and haven't gotten AF (not surprising, since it usually doesn't come on its own anyway), but I took a FRER this morning just to be sure, and it was BFN.
Is it possible that my progesterone level could be rising this late in my cycle? I got the peak reading on CD23, but she's insisting I didn't actually O...

The thing with PCOS is that the body can hormonally gear up to O several times during a cycle and not actually O. You may get all kinds of fertility signs like increase CM and peak reading on the monitor but not actually O. The only foolproof test that ovulation has taken place is a blood test for progesterone. If you want to take better charge of your ovulation, you are probably going to have to give the Clomid a try. GL!

This is 100% correct...that was why I suggested another progesterone test. You would have to take Clomid and go for regular monitoring to be sure you are ovulating.
