Food is great. We ate so much take out the first two weeks. I would have loved some good homecooked meals. But with the lack of sleep, DH and I had no interest in cooking. Also a little break is fantastic. I LOVEd going for a mani/pedi with my friend when the baby was about 3 weeks old.

I already plan on doing this...I live right around the corner. Plus, I hope she'll let me babysit so she can go out.

I wanted something special to bring to the hospital.

Then I would suggest something personalized. Two great things I got were a beautiful horse snow globe from Red Envelope with his name on it, and also some burp clothes with his name on them. Anything like that is more of a keepsake.

ETS- Since she just had the baby you don't have time to order anything, maybe you can run to Things Remembered and get a nice frame with the baby's name, DOB and weight.
