Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
I've known people to spend thousands but it really isn't necessary at all, you can do it for much cheaper.
As we had to buy two cribs, we went with a Simplicity that got great reviews from BB but was only $250. You would never know, it is well constructed as much so as the $500 ones I've seen. I picked the natural color because we had dressers in that color already.
ETA: I bought my glider from a church baby sale for $30. My MIL is recovering the cushions.
If you have your heart set on an entire furniture suite, which many girls on the board seem to get, it will run more money.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
I only know that my soon to be niece's furniture was about $2500 and it was from Behr's.
That includes the crib (that eventually turns into a twin bed down the road) and dresser/changing table. I think thats it.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
We spent about 1200 on 3 pieces, crib, dresser/changing table and chiferobe. All three could be used well into the future so we didn't mind spending the extra money.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
We got ours from a local consignment store. It helps that the women who go there are mostly from the wealthy neighborhood nearby. I got my crib and glider(wood, no cushions) for 230. I also got a bassinet for 30. Its an older model which I actually like better. I love our babies room and glad we didn't have to go crazy.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
I researched all the furniture we need....a crib, a changing table and a chest of drawers. It will end up costing us less than $500 in the end and all the pieces match/are a set. It isn't necessary to spend thousands. You just have to do some research and keep in mind things like the crib and changing table will not really be used for an extended period of time.
crib I like is around 170 changing table is around 110 i don't remember the chest of drawers price.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
We got ours at Behrs - it cost about $2200 - that was the crib, changing table and a large dresser..It helped that it was a gift from my parents or else Im sure we would have looked somewhere else.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
Probably 1500 and up... but you can definitely do it cheaper. I saw a beautiful crib in baby Fortunoff for $299. White is good, because it's easier to mix and match furniture.
Pottery Barn Kids is hiring... and they give 40% discount to employees I remember you said that you might be interested for Holiday Help.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
I would say 1500 and up is a good estimate. I paid 2400 total for 3 peices, delivery and set up. Though I got a few BBB coupons recently so it may go down about 500.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
We got a convertible crib and changing table/dresser for about $800 from JCPenney. My parent paid for it.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
our crib and dresser were just under $1000 with the 20% off. We got a glider as a hand me down - that I barely used, but they are definitely in the $250+ range.

If you want to stay grounded, check out the book "Baby Bargains" by Denise & Alan Fields.
It goes through what's necessary and what's not and they reviewed and rated many baby products (including furniture manufacturers).

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
We spent a lot more than we wanted to. We found a set we loved and tried to find something comparable, but cheaper, but never found anything. We wound up spending $2700 on a convertable crib, conversion kit, full size dresser and large armoire.

Re: What is the average cost of baby furniture?
I paid 2100 bucks for a lifetime crib, rails to change it into full size bed, changing dresser and hutch and 5 drawer chest, it's legacy, BBB carries it.
