Re: what is the average cycle period
what exactly do you mean?
if you are referring to the average cycle length, it's 28 days. women who have 28-day cycles usually O around CD 14.
this is not true for most women, b/c they will either have longer or short cycles, or they may have 28 day cycles and O early or late.
if you are using OPKs you should go by the instructions - for example, if your cycles are 28 days you start using the OPKs on CD 10.

Re: what is the average cycle period
Well, the textbook average is 28 days. It definately varies wideley from woman to woman. For example, my cycles are 34 days on average, sometimes a little shorter. If I tried to calculate ovulation by a textbook 28 day cycle, I would be almost a week off.
It's probably best to either chart your cycles or use OPKs to figure out around when you O.

It's hard to say what the "average" is, as everyone is different. When I was regular, my cycle varied from 29-32 days. More often than not, AF would come on CD30. Now, my cycle is usually around 36 days, but I've been on medicated cycles for the past 5 months.

Re: what is the average cycle period
I think this is going to sound pathetic but...
Im trying sorta the old fashioned way.
Just trying to use mymonthlycycle.com to figure out when Im fertile then I will BD the heck out of my hubby
Go a month and try again until AF doesnt come.
I haven't (and don't intend) to buy anything to test myself or whatever. I'm letting nature do her best with me first for this year. No money on the stuff.
So i need to know a cycle period to figure out OVulation. But I really haven't been paying attention but I was hoping someone could give me a good idea so I could use the website.
Thanks!!!

Re: what is the average cycle period
Again, it's hard to come up with a number, as everyone is so different. I would just start keeping track of how many days from the first day of AF until the next first day of AF.

Re: what is the average cycle period
if you want to try the natural way you should check out "taking charge of your fertility" from the library. it will explain about temping and checking your CM, things that will help you determine when you O each month and the best times to BD.
the most basic method is to BD when you start to see CM that resembles egg whites, and don't use regular lubricants if you use any at all because they will kill sperm. good luck!!

Re: what is the average cycle period
There is no way to tell you this number, you have to figure it out on your own. If you don't want to put any extra effort into it, then BDing every other day is probably the most natural you can get. Even if you plug a # into one of those websites, if it doesn't coincide with your cycle, you'll miss your fertile days. If you BD every other day, you will definitely hit the fertile window.
