We took DS to the one in Essex, CT last year and had a great time!

Not the closest, but we love the Newport, RI dinner train. So cute and so much fun.

Essex isn't actually the story of the Polar Express. But I hear it's great. We buy tickets each year when they go on sale in August, then something always comes up and we can't go! The closest Polar Express one is in NJ I believe

Not the closest, but we love the Newport, RI dinner train. So cute and so much fun.
We did the Newport one last year and loved it! I have no idea how it compares to any of the others. But we were able to make a nice long weekend, winter trip with the kids. Our hotel had an indoor pool, we went to the arcade, went out to eat a lot, walked through town, etc...

I believe they go on sale on or about August 1st. We've always booked in August. It sells out very quickly.

I am going to try to get tickets to this, but was wondering if it was worth it to pay for the first class seats? What are the coach seats like? Are they set up like a normal train, or do the bench seats run the length of the train car?
