Re: what is the cost to have a baby?
The hospital billed my insurance 25,000 before insurance for a c-section. Someone else posted on another thread that the average for a regular birth is 14,000.

Re: what is the cost to have a baby?
I hve the cost sheet from S.Nassau & it is $9675.00
Breakdown Room Rate $2300 per day Delivery room Service: 1085 Supplies: 45 Routine Lab: 50 Pharmacy: 20
Baby: Nursery 1900 per day Additional charge for Circumcision tray: 75
So if you do a vaginal birth, that is $9675. A C-section would be more depending on how many days you stay. Of course this does not include anesthesia charge which can be upwards of $2K

But that's just the HOSPITAL charges I believe, not your doctor's charges.

Re: what is the cost to have a baby?
I have insurance, but am delivering at a county hospital (where they send most people without insurance), and if they can't pay, generally they don't make them, or they waive much of the bill. County hospitals cannot turn people away based on whether or not they can pay.

Exactly, this doesn't include your own OB's charges for the delivery & the circumcision...Now we all know why insurance premiums are so high!
