What is the funniest thing your child wanted for Christmas/Hanukkah?
I saw this on another board and the responses were hilarious.
DD's too young to ask for things so I can't answer but I can't wait to read the responses.

When my son was 6, this is what he wrote on his Santa-list:
"Tape: for sticking, not for listening"
Needless to say, he got a big box of every kind of tape Santa could find at Ace hardware!

Not Christopher (all he wants is race cars, shocked? ) but when I was 6, I wanted a globe.
A GLOBE? And I got it. And there is video of me screaming "MYYY GLLOOOBBBBEEEE"
And I still have it, though it is pretty outdated

When I was a kid-- I thought globes were pretty cool too!
My parents never got me one though

My DD is very simple. shes 3.5 and the 1 thing you continually asks for is a "watering can" so she can garden. Here I am buying all of these wonderful $$ toys and she wants a plastic watering can hahaha.

Roman told me he wanted Santa to get him a Scooby Doo chia pet. I was like DH said, "well they do have the herb ones." Great, so I'll be cooking with basil I harvest from Scooby's paws.

Re: What is the funniest thing your child wanted for Christmas/Hanukkah?
A pocket rocket.
Yes that's what I said. Only it's not THAT type of pocket rocket.
The conversation went like this:
"So what are you putting on your list for Christmas?"
"A pocket rocket."
"WHAT?" (me, practically falling out of my chair)
"A pocket rocket. They look so cool."
Thinking someone older was screwing with him, I said "Who told you to ask for that? Where did you hear that term?"
"From TV?"
(ok, what? I set those parental controls on the TV & really what channel discusses vibrators?! I haven't listened to Howard Stern since he went to Sirius) "Oh, umm...what channel was it on?"
"I don't know but they are really cool, you can drive them around. It's a mini motorcycle."
Fast forward to the commercial, it is a mini motorcycle that you can drive on....and he won't be getting it because he's 8.

It's not what she wanted, it's how she thought she was getting it. She kept saying, "OH! I have to order that from Santa!" like he's a catalog

Re: What is the funniest thing your child wanted for Christmas/Hanukkah?
sorry for crashing!
When I got my 3 year old niece's Christmas email to Santa, #1 was " a wedding ring for my Dad" My brother had lost his wedding ring in a lake a few months back and I guess she picked up on how upset her parents were so that was her #1 request

Re: What is the funniest thing your child wanted for Christmas/Hanukkah?
DD is only 20 months but talks a lot. We have been talking about Santa and how he brings presents. I asked her the other day what she wanted from Santa. She told me Dora, Boots (Dora's sidekick) and a spaceship......
ETA When my sister was about 5 she really liked looking out the window. We lived on the thrid floor of an apartment building and she wasn't allowed to look out the windows. My mom was paranoid she would fall out.. For Christmas that year all she wanted was a window. She talked about it constantly. My dad made her a window. It had plexiglass instead of glass and even openned. She LOVED that thing played with it constantly.
