What is the lifespan of a infant swing? I think our is dying
We used it with DD and now with DS whose 4 mos and it seems to be slowly dying. Even when we change batteries it just doesn't work like it used to and I feel like we're changing batteries all the time now! Has this happened to anyone else or is it my imagination?

Oh we had to take the one from my parents!!
SAME thing happened to ours. We used it with DD and now at about 4.5 months with DD#2 the motor finally decided to go.
Thank GOD my parents had the same one that was barely ever used.

Re: What is the lifespan of a infant swing? I think our is dying
the 1st one we had was a hand-me-down and it lasted 7 years before it died.
the 2nd one we had, another hand-me-down, lasted about 6 years.
the 3rd one we had, is about 9 months old and still works.
i guess it depends on which kind you have.
with the 1st one, friends DD used it the 1st 12 months all the time (she was colic), my DS used it for 9 months, he slept in it.
the 2nd one was used sporadically.
the 3rd one DD uses it to nap

ok well at least I know I'm not the only one. We can't decide whether to buy another one b/c he won't be in it for that much longer but I can't imagine living w/o it! yet anyway!

I felt the same way. If my parents didn't have one I probably would have gone out and bought one

Re: What is the lifespan of a infant swing? I think our is dying
We had an FP swing and it lasted through 7 months until DD outgrew it. It's now in storage but it still works fine. That thing was on all the time, every day, and we only had to change the batteries twice!

Mine is still good -- but I retired it when the baby was about 10 months. It is a Fisher Price Little Lamb Swing
