What is the trick to opening a bottle of wine

when the cork is not real cork? I tried so many times tonight with the bottle opener that is fool proof ( the thing goes around the neck and then you pull a lever down) and then a tradional wine opener and nothing. It seems like the metal just slips from the plastic.

yeah, those plastic corks are a pain


we have the rabbit wine opener -- it works the best for that, I think
