What is the turnaround time for AFP results?
Did your doctor call you with results or do you have to go in for a follow up visit?
I haven't told work yet that I am pregnant and I feel like I am going to the doctor too much. Plus each visit requires a long wait time.

My Dr. originally told me to make the appointment at 16 weeks. It's just bloodwork, I was in and out within 10 minutes. She said we would discuss the results at my 18 week check up. However, since my results came back on the low side for Downs, she called me two days after I had my blood drawn. If my results had come back okay, it would have waited until my appointment.

Turnaround time-- 7 to 10 business days.

my dr. called me a week later with the results. Depends on how long your dr takes to process blood results, if they send it out, if they do it there, etc.

Same with mine... my waits are horrendous, but for the AFP bloodwork, I didn't see the Dr. One of the nurses did it.

I had it done at 16 weeks and was told "No news is good news". If God forbid there was bad news she would call in 7-10 days. I did NOT get any call and at my 18 week visit she confirmed all was groovy.

They took my blood at the office and within 3 or 4 days thwy called me with the results.
