What is wrong with my child?
DD is 11 weeks old. On Wednesday, she "spit up" twice at day care (so much so that they had to change her clothes)- and then at night, projectile vomitted all over me. I called the doctor and they said there is a stomach virus going around- to give her pedialyte, etc.
Fast forward to today, she was fine in the morning, then at like 1ish, she took a bottle, then like an hour later, projectile vomitted her whole bottle. Then again with the last bottle I gave her!
I dont get it. I dont really believe that she has a stomach virus. I just dont get why she is throwing up her whole bottle like an hour after she takes it.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Is the formula curdled? Does she have a fever?

Re: What is wrong with my child?
She could be having a reaction to the milk. I would call your ped. and make an appt. for Monday.

I was thinking that myself, Jenna would burp and then open up like a water faucet. i had to switch her to soy

Re: What is wrong with my child?
I've gone through this too with DD, and it seems like the doctors don't think that vomiting is too big of a deal unless there is blood in it, or accompanied with other symptoms.
I hope she feels better soon

Re: What is wrong with my child?
It doesn't look like the formula is curdled- and she's already on soy. And no fever. The only other thing is that she has 2 red patches on both of her cheecjs. I think its just dry skin- but now I'm wondering.

Re: What is wrong with my child?
take my advice with a grain of salt since my dd was neevr on formula...but I know when she was older and if she ate food and had milk at the same time, she would do it...it was too much for her tummy....could it be that she is eating too much? (have you increased the amt of formula at all??)
hope your dc is better soon!

Re: What is wrong with my child?
could your dc have reflux? that happened to dd..the pediatrician has changed her formula but looks like she is a happy reflux - she doesnt cry when she spits up, she is gaining weight on track, she just spits up..its something that she will outgrow in time (hopefully soon - i do laundry everyother day just for the bibs alone lol)..hth

Re: What is wrong with my child?
If you say she has red patches on her cheeks, definitely have her tested for a soy allergy, as well as a milk protein allergy. Many times, those two go hand in hand and a dry, red rash will be a sign of an allergy. That's exactly what my daughter would do when she had a reaction, she would projectile vomit.

Re: What is wrong with my child?
Are you sure it is projectile vomiting and not just spit up or reflux? Unfortunately my DS spits up a ton ALOT and if he doesn't have a bib on we are often changing his clothes - we go through bibs and burb clothes like crazy. once in a while when he guzzles too fast it shoots out. And, he is BF so its not from formula.
