What is your opinion on this?
How much do you think the salary should be of an administrative/executive assistant be with about 6/7 years of experience?
Thanks!

depends on the industry, and to whom you'd be answering (asst to a chief officers would garner higher pay than asst to a manager or a general asst position). I'd say in the 40-60 range

Administrive and Excutive Assistant, isn't there a difference as far as how high on the food chain you report to? Which you make the pay scale different.

An admin asst - NOT an exec asst - I agree with the PPs..
Maybe in NYC - $45-55k
Long Island / NJ - $35-45k.
JMO.

Re: What is your opinion on this?
It depends on the level you are supporting.
So from a banking perspective if you support one very senior person it could be $60-75K. That would be a very senior level NYC.
LI probably $45-60.
Supporting mid level officers NYC $50-$60
LI $40-45
Also, it depends if you are bonus eligible or OT eligible.
That is only for banking..I am not familiar with any other industry.

I thought the salaries were rather low too. I may be out of the touch with the market but I would think $50K would be a minimum.
I also think it would depend on how large the company is since they tend to pay more.

agreed..large banks..that's what I know. I also think that hedge funds and private equity firms offer bigger bonuses and other perks that the big banks don't like free lunch and breakfast. Although in this environment, that may be going away too.
I agree with $50K as a min in NYC for a mid-level assistant.

Re: What is your opinion on this?
As an Executive Asistant position alone, I would say that in today's market I am seeing employers offer salaries in the low 40's which is not toooo bad..
