What kind of doctor would I go to for this?
Today I was getting my hair colored and my colorist noticed that I have a small bald spot!! It's about the size of a nickel. You can't see it unless you go digging, but it's a little disturbing! She asked if I was stressed and I said no because she said sometimes it falls out when people are stressed.
Not sure who I should go to about this - my regular doctor or the dermatologist?

I'm not sure if you would go to a dermatologist? I would check with my regular dr first. Is the bald spot a perfect circle? I know my friend had alopecea when he was really stressed out and that causes people to lose hair in perfect circles.

No - its not a perfect circle, and I havent been stressed out al all...so weird.

dermatologist. My friend had patches of missing hair and it was b/c she was stressed.

If you are in Nassau County I have a good dermotologist who was recommended to me when I lost hair post partum -- he specializes in hair loss (not just for post partum women but for everyone) -- he is in Garden City. FM me if this is convinient for you!

Thanks everyone! I am going to the Dermatologist in the morning. I really hope its not Alopecia! I have always thought my hair was one of my best features.
