Love my MIL but...
I love her to death... but she wants to go to my doctors appointments with me if my DH can't make it. Actually, let me rephrase that.... she basically TELLS me that she is going to go if my DH can't make it. She also thinks she is going to be there for delivery.
My Mom lives out of state, so I think she feels like she needs to step in. I would feel better going by myself than having her there. Not in a mean way, but I don't feel like my sono appointments are for public viewing. It should be something soley for myself and my DH if he can be there.
How do I nicely break the ice and tell her that I don't need an audience?
Any suggestions? Thanks!
p.s. I love this website and you girls are AWESOME!

You will just have to tell her that you aren't comfortable with her there - or don't even tell her when you appts. are. Good luck....

I agree! I didn't even want my DH in there for the early appts (transvaginal u/s!! ) Maybe she could go with you to your level 2 appt. @ 20w. That she'd love!

You have to remember that most of our mom's and mil's never had ultrasounds done so they are just amazed and don't really understand the protocol. I would just tell her that you would love to share the pictures after the fact. Does she not have a daughter?

Re: Love my MIL but...
She does have a daughter, but about 7 years younger.
I think I will just FORCE my DH to be with me. I like the advise about not really saying when the next appointment is...
