Something amazing has just happened...
After the sleepytime fiasco last night, I have decided to have a skim through the Happiest Baby on the Block book that I got a few weeks ago, but have had no time to read and it talks about swaddling and whoosh/shush noises...so as Noah was ratty *again* this afternoon, probably due to the lack of sleep I decided to try the swaddling...so I did, he cried for a few minutes, but then I turned the vacuum cleaner on and I rocked him next to the vacuum...lo and behold, he calmed down the minute to vacuum went on and he is now sleeping IN THE CO-SLEEPER, which is something that he has never done in the day...
So I think I am going to try this tonight...once the rattiness starts, I am going to swaddle, swing and hoover!
Thanks for all your advice...lets hope this isn't a fluke!

My niece had serious colic. My sister taped the vacuum cleaner on both sides of a tape so she wouldn't cry.

OMG that book is a lifesaver. We swaddled and shhhsssd our way through the first 3 months. We still swaddle.
