Sedation for CAT-Scan?
Has anyone's baby had to be lightly sedated for a CAT-Scan? Kevin has to have one and our DR. said they will sedate him for the test.
What happens after? Do they have to stay in the hospital overnight?

Re: Sedation for CAT-Scan?
THey sedated my son for an EEG. I had to fill a prescription and the doctor administered it. I don't know if it is different for a CAT-scan though.
Hope everything turns out OK!!

Re: Sedation for CAT-Scan?
I would think it would be a short acting sedative so he shouldn't have to stay overnight.
I hope everything is OK.

Re: Sedation for CAT-Scan?
They get a better pic b/c he won't be moving so they won't need to repeat it. They usually go home that day since it is really light sedation...
Why does he need a CT?

Re: Sedation for CAT-Scan?
Kevin head hasn't rounded out yet and the doctor is concerned that the sutures (spot spots) in the back have fused prematurely. He pretty sure its just because babies now spend more time on their backs because of SIDS awareness but he just want to be sure.

Re: Sedation for CAT-Scan?
My son had to have double hernia sergury (sp?) at 4 months old!! He was sedated and went through the surgery and sent home the same day!! I am sure he will be home after! Its only light sedation so it won't last long!
