Another level 2 question..

I have to schedule my level 2 sonogram. I read in my papers that you have to drink and not empty your bladder for 2 hours before the test. Did everyone have to do this??? I am really nervous about this part because I have to use the bathroom very frequently when not pregnant, I cant imagine NOW!

Anyone?

Re: Another level 2 question..

when i had my level 2, i also got that paper that said to drink lots of water and not empty my bladder. so i did it, and i had to go to the bathroom soooooooooooo bad, i almost had tears in my eyes, but i didnt go, just to make sure the tech got all the correct measurements etc, i was being brave, WELL, lol. right in the beginning of the sono, the tech tells me " your bladder is tooo full, go to the bathroom, so i can get a better view". LOL. so i dont know how true it is that a full bladder is best. cause i know when i was there. all the woman for there sonos were using the bathroom. so i would just hold as much water as you are comfortable with. dont suffer like i did, i almost ruied one of the most amazing experiences of pregnanacy.

Re: Another level 2 question..

There was someone on LIF whos dr couldnt get a good pic of the baby bc her bladder was too full.

For my level II I actually had to go to the bathroom as soon as I got there LOL The dr still got great pics - see my profile for one picture

Yep. Same here.

If this was me, I woldn't go with it full. I would want to be comfortable!
I would just bring a large bottle of water and if they do want it full, I'd just drink the water.

Hi Noreen Chat Icon

Yep, I went in and was like PLEASE call me in soon ! they are usually sensitive to the fact that a preggo is waiting with a full bladder Chat Icon

Just try not to drink too much, just think of your bladder now feeling full with much less than it would if you werent preggo, if that makes sense Chat Icon

Re: Another level 2 question..

I too drank so much that I literally had tears in my eyes. They made me wait almost 30 min before calling me in and when they did they told me to empty SOME of my bladder because I was soooo uncomfortable. Ok girls try having to go so bad that you are crying and then empty just SOME????? I think that was the most painful thing I have ever had to do. Then when I got in she told me that it was still too full and to go empty SOME more. I said look lady if you dont let me go all the way then I am going all the way home. In the grand scheme of things, I basically had an empty bladder so may I kindly ask what the point was in making me suffer????

Re: Another level 2 question..

I actually was asked to empty my bladder before the level 2. Go figure. I guess it depends on the tech and their equipment, too.

Re: Another level 2 question..

same here- the sono tech told me to go pee- my full bladder got in the way of seeing the baby. she said with current technology, a full bladder is no longer necessary and actually makes it more difficult.

Re: Another level 2 question..

My sono place never gave me any instructions on drinking and not peeing. I don't think they need that anymore to get good pics like they used to. I've had alot of sonos during this PG and they never told me my bladder had to be full (except I think for the one at like 9 weeks).
