It only took me three weeks at my new job to burst into tears....
and I don't cry easily...
so upset right now.
I am an Exec Assistant to someone that is really nice, but she is always really late.....anyway, everyone is always bitching at me and yelling at me b/c she is never on time. I finally broke down today...thank god nobody saw me.
I HATE when I cry at work...I need hugs

please don't take this personally. This is not you. And you are the new person and people are just venting at you because they can. If it brought you to tears, it's time to have a conversation with your boss about it. Ask her how to handle it, knowing that she has a tight schedule and that there are never enough hours in the day. I think she woudl be really upset if she knew people were harassing you about her schedule.

that totally s*cks--- try not to take it personally and eventually, you will come up with a system for dealing with these people.
I would tal to your boss and let her know how people are treating you-- I mean, it's not your fault she can't be on time!

it's her first day back from vacation and everyone wants a piece of her time, so it's basically a nightmare.
i wish i could talk to my boss about it, but it is literally so bad that i talk to her alone for 1 minute every day.
she is truly an "executive" - I have worked for lots of people, but I have never experienced anything like this before. I am beginning to realize that it is the nature of the job. the girl that was in the position before me understands and i am talking to her about it, so it feels good to know that it's not me....
I basically feel like I either need to suck it up or move on, and the second option really isn't an option right now.

Alicia-I work for one of those lady executives..there are days I get no time with her at all. Some of our communication is her send me a bberry mail during a meeting about running late for her next meeting.
How late is she for these meetings? This happens a lot here.

 I'm sorry that's happening - I cried at work today too soemtimes you need to. I'm glad to hear you can talk with the person who had your spot before that helps alot to vent to someone who actually understands and has been in your shoes. You should go treat yourself to something special.

Before being a SAHM I worked in an accounting firm and I for the most part ran the office but also was a personal assistant for one of my bosses and he never once was on time in almost 4 yeas that i was their. People would yell B**** to me all the time and I would just aplogize like it came from him. Their was nothing I could do to get him to appointments on time so I delt with it. It was difficult working for him but after some time you get use to the hussle and bussle but it wasnt for everyone. I am surprised the girl that took my position is still their becuase I didnt think she would last. My best advise for you is just to try not to take it personally and one thing that really helped for me because I used to get yelled at by clients was to get friendly with them. They would call and I would calm them down and then they delt with my boss. Alot of them were sad to see me go and I was actually going to miss some of them. Hope that helps.
