Bets Children's Photo Places?
Kiddie Candids, good ol' JC Penney? Who's the best? TIA. ...and also, do you just walk-in or make an appointment?

Re: Bets Children's Photo Places?
I love Kiddie Kandids, but I'm probably a bit biased, because my friend works there and she hooks me up with free pics. I love their props and I love the fact that you get pictures right away.

Re: Bets Children's Photo Places?
Great post! I am impatient so I want my pics ASAP, not a month later and she no longer looks like that anymore.
I hear Kiddie Kandids is great but $$. What about Sears? Any info on them?

Re: Bets Children's Photo Places?
I joined The Picture People club and took photos at 6 weeks and was thrilled. Over the weekend there was a coupon for target for $8.99...no sitting fee, 1-8x10,2-5x7,4-3 1/2x5,24 wallets & 6 billfolds, I am trying them next week. I'll let you know

I like Kiddie Kandids. They work very hard to get a good shot.

Re: Bets Children's Photo Places?
I have gone to Sears 2 times and Kiddie Kandids 3 times, and I will not go anywhere else but Kiddie Kandids. I spent more at Sears and got less then at Kiddie Kandids, and I was so unhappy with the photographers at sears. I always get the 6 sheet package for 75 and then add the disk for 15 so I can get all the other pics I want. Also every time we go, I get a coupon for a free 11 x 14 for the next time we go if you answer a one minute survey.

Re: Bets Children's Photo Places?
I too like to get my pics right away so I have only used KK and Picture People. My experience with KK was much nicer - the props were all in great shape and the photographer was really great with my daughter which made a huge difference. With PP, I find their props are so many times dirty or chipped and the photographer dont seem as into it. (Ive used a few locations.) However I've always gotten nice pics from them - especially my son, hes loves playing up for the camera. I find myself using them when I get a coupon for a free 8x10 and then I buy another pose sometimes - usually a sheet of wallets for family or 5x7s for Grandparents/Godparents and it ends up being reasonable - I spend maybe $15.

Re: Bets Children's Photo Places?
Personally I prefer a private photographer. The cost might be a little bit more but I love the photos they capture. We're doing Miranda's 6 month pictures April 1. The woman is coming to our house.
ETA: I've never used KK or PP. We did use a place out here called Picture Innovations or something like they. They were OK but I didn't love them.

Re: Bets Children's Photo Places?
We used target for Emily's christmas photos and it wasn't anything super exciting but I didn't stay there long -- as soon as she started to get fussy i got nervous and we left. We did get a few good shots (I wish I had them saved on this computer) and I will take her back there at 6 months because the price is great. I figure if it doesn't come out good then I can go somewhere else and will have only lost $9.

Re: Bets Children's Photo Places?
Ok, so I am probably the only person who does not like Kiddie Kandids, and I have given them a fair shot - I took Andrew there on 3 occasions and have yet to get one decent shot and they cost too much $$, IMO. Even if they do your pics right away, not worth it to me.
I have had great shots taken on two different occasions at JCPenny's and would use them again if we need to. I save coupons I get in magazines or even print some out from their online site, and I get a free 8x10, and $3.99 portraits sheets. I got a bunch of great Christmas shots last November and paid only $26. I was very happy.
I will say though that we had an appointment and we still had to wait an hour. That was the one sucky thing. I shopped while I waited.
Also, JCPenny has reduced the time you need to wait to get your pics. It used to be 3 weeks, not its less than 10 days. Yes, it ***** to have to wait and make a trip back to pic them up, but for me that was a better experience than any time I've taken him to KK.
