Anybody do the christening celebration at home
What did you do differently in terms of how you worded the invitations, etc.? We don't think we can afford to do a restaurant thing. TIA

Re: Anybody do the christening celebration at home
We did ours at home and had it catered. Our chuch is 1/2 a mile from our house so it worked our great and everyone enjoyed that they could be very causal at the party and Jack enjoyed being back at home with his toys and crib.
We just put lunch following at our home......

We are doing the same thing. We are having here at our house. Having it at a restaurant is way out of our price range with the amount of people that are coming.

WE had it at our home too, and had it catered. much easier and a tad cheaper. Plus it was in August and the kids could play outside in the yard. ON our invite, I just put reception to follow at our home.

Re: Anybody do the christening celebration at home
I haven't but I think I am going to with this baby. We will probably have the Christening in August so it will work well for the kids to be able to play and run around - or for the baby to nap. Plus I'm throwing my DH a big birthday party next month and I dont know if we can swing 2 restaurant celebrations only a few months apart - at home will definitely be less expensive.

Re: Anybody do the christening celebration at home
I did it at home and will again....just seems to me the type of occasion that should be celebrated at home with close family - we had it catered though, and I had a girl come in and help. I worded the invitation, please join us at our home for a celebration following the mass.

Re: Anybody do the christening celebration at home
we are doing a small celebration at our church...it's only $25 for members to rent the family life center. After that, we're doing BBQ at the house for the family and friends

Re: Anybody do the christening celebration at home
I did Gabriella's at home. Loved it, too. We just a bbq in June at my house. I just put reception following and my addy. If stuff wouldn't have come up with my son's...we would have had it at home again.
