What color is 3 week old poop of a BF baby? (TMI)
A few of his last diapers look almost slimy with orange goo. We first thought it might be blood, but it's more brown with a rusty orange. We are supplementing with about 4oz of formula per day because he's so dang big. I can't find the darn charts I had that said colors/consistancy of the first few weeks. Any light you can shed? TIA!!

Kelly, Kelly Kelly, you want to know what color 3 week old poop is supposed to be, but why do you have 3 week old poop lying around?
Seriously, I was just reading about poop in some BFing book and I didn't memorize b/c I am not even sure I will BF, but I think your description was similar to something they said is normal.

Yep. all of that. Sometimes it's a bit more "orangy" but it also depends what you eat.

sounds very normal to me
my dd's bf poos when i started weaning were anywhere from bright green to yellow to orangey yellow brownish.

The poop of EBF babies is kind-of a mustard color. There is a lot of variation to that shade. It will look like it has seeds in it- that is actually curds of breast milk.
However, since you are supplementing with formula, that is going to affect the color. Even a small amount will affect the color.

def. mustard color... sometimes it is more orange, sometimes more greenish just depends on what you eat...
