3 week old won't take the bottle of breast milk

I pumped last night and tried the bottle so DH can get used to feeding her and maybe I can go out ... I think I might go to the BAR !! (Just Kidding) anyway, she was SCREAMING and would not take it , you can tell she was having a hard time with the sucking and getting her lips to contour around the nipple of the bottle...

I was thinking that I should just try 1 feeding a day with the bottle, let her scream it out, but keep trying. Has this happened to anyone? Any tricks I can try?

TIA

First keep trying and then keep trying dfferent bottles and nippled. My son wouldn't take it for a couple of days and the only bottle he like was the Dr. Brown's ones (not the wide neck one's).

I've been pumping and feeding DD since day 4 and I use Dr. Brown's bottles. What bottles are you using now?

Does she take a pacifer? I introduced that first so she can get the hang of sucking on something other than me. It took her a few tries to get the hang of that but then she took the bottle no problem.

She won't take the pacifier either, but that is ok, I don't even want to introduce that just yet...eventually, just not yet. The bottles are from Medela kit and the nipples are just the ones that came with it, I might have to change the nipple because I tried again today and it was leaking everywhere on her, so maybe the hole in nipple is too big?

I had the same problem. I use dr. Browns too. I had DH position him the same way that he would be if I was BF, I think that helped.

I would switch to a wide neck bottle (that is what worked for us he didnt like the narrow nipples) and also try warming it, it might be to cold for her. I know Luka will not take another suck if his first one is cooler than what he likes unless we are out then he doesnt have a choice and will drink it but it takes a long time.

It sounds like nipple confusion and a change in routine. DC doesn't know what's going on and it doesn't smell like mommy. Keep trying. I wound up having the opposite problem eventually. Because I did bottle feed sometimes so DH could feed or because I needed to rest DS wouldn't latch back on as easily.

I happened to have used the Dr. Brown's as well.
