How much does it cost to wallpaper a bathroom?
Not including the actual wallpaper--
I just got a quote and we are beginning to think we have no idea how much things cost-- so I am trying to figure out of it's realistic or not..
Thanks!

R- I asked my painter if he does wall paper and unfortunately he does not.
I will say that I got a quote for a guy to paint and do wall paper in 1 bathroom. And it was for the same space as the guy I hired for 2800 to do all painting. the other guy wanted 3,500 but I would have to get the paper.

But the guy that you hired is not doing the wallpaper right?
Trying to figure out how that translates to what the bathroom would have been..
Do you have that other guy's # btw? I can just call and get a quote...

Re: How much does it cost to wallpaper a bathroom?
The guy is hired does not do wall paper - he only paints.
Well we are having the following done
Living room Dining room Kitchen Eat in kitchen area Masterbedroom (and walk in closet) 2nd bedroom Hallway and upstairs hallway (with 30 foot ceiling) Masterbath 2nd bath downstairs half bath
all moldings remove shutters from 5 windows fix a few pops in ceiling from nail heads
2,800
for the same job (plus a utility room and all closets - there are 4 more) and wallpapering the 1/2 bath we were quoted 3,500 this is using benjamine moore paint for both.
Both painters were supplying the paint.
The downstairs 1/2 bath is 59"x59" or about 5 feet by 5 feet.

Re: How much does it cost to wallpaper a bathroom?
While I've never paid to get a bathroom wallpapered I've done a few myself. Personally, they are a PITA... there are a lot of odd shaped cuts. The first room I ever wallpapered was a bathroom and thankfully, I have good spatial relations because it is a real pain cutting around a toilet (pipes) and vanity and medicine cabinet. It is soooooo much easier to wallpaper a box of a room (4 uniform walls, no radiators, just baseboard and one large window). I don't know what I was thinking...LOL.
That's the reason why it's so hard to find wallpaper people and why it's so expensive.

i personally wouldn't wallpaper a bathroom.
what about the steam from showers?? wouldn't that eventually loosen the wallpaper?

As long as you let the wallpaper settle for 24 hours (and the glue didn't have too much water on the paper and all airbubbles smoothed out) and have proper ventilation (window and/or fan) there is no problem.
Growing up we lived in four houses with 9 bathrooms total and my dad wallpapered each one at least once, sometimes twice. Never a problem.

I wish it did...when we bought our house, the master bath was wallpapered floor to ceiling...it was a major PITA to get it all off...and not one area was loose and easy to remove...we worked for days getting this stuff off!!!!
