weight watchers points question...

does anyone else have a hard time actually figuringout what number of points you just ate unless you look up specific itenms in the book.

for example - for lunch i had boars head turkey, lettuce, tomato and apple slices in a wheat wrap with a little bit up honeycup mustard.. here i go thinking i am eating so well - but then when i start breaking it down - i feel like i ate a
a ton of points.....

anyone have any idea how many ppoints that was? --- maybe some of the veteran wws - i want to make sure i am ok for dinner?

The easiest thing to do, although it is time consuming, is to count the points while making the lunch, unfortuantely you have to plan your day ahead of time if you want to make sure you stay w/in your points. As far as the wrap, it depends. Did you figure out the points for just the plain wrap was using the nutrition label? The lett/tom free obviously and the turkey is low in points, typically 1 or 2 points depending on how much you put. Is the mustard free? That also depends on the ingredients. The apple is only 1 pt for a small one. It is probably not that bad. It is very frustrating, I know exactly how you feel! Good luck!

Re: weight watchers points question...

I find that sandwiches can really add up, especially if you put any cheese on it. Cheese is 2 points for 1 slice - OUCH!!!

I tend to shy away from sandwiches because of this.

The best thing for you to do is to pre-label all your packages with a permanent marker when you get them, how many points one serving is. Then as you are putting your meal together, it is easier to count! Good Luck! Eventually you just start to know the points of things you eat the most often.

I try to stick with salad and maybe a cup of soup for lunch to keep the points down. If you prefer the sandwich, maybe you can have a veggie sandwich to cut out the points of the meat.

That's the norm for sandwiches... on the LOW side. Some get double almost triple the points of what you had. Avoid cheese on sandwiches too... Stick with spicy/deli mustard. Mayo adds up, honey mustard adds up, O&V...etc.

Definitely take the advice of these ladies and plan your day ahead of time. It really helps you stay on track and budgets the points better throughout the day.
