our trip to Mystic, CT labor day weekend
DH and I had such a great time on our little get away. Mystic was really nice, we enjoyed the seaport, the aquarium and old Mystic village. We ate at some great restaurants too. Our hotel was awesome. We stayed at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa. It is actually 10 minutes away from the seaport area. The room was beautiful and even had a seperate spa tub in the bathroom. We would definately go back again!

Re: our trip to Mystic, CT labor day weekend
We stay at the Steamboat inn - It is located right on the water in the heart of mystic. It is a great little inn that offers really nice rooms. Some have whirlpools for two, and fireplaces. They have complimentary breakfast with muffins that are amazing, and cookies and sherry in the evening. They also have complimentary beverages throughout the day.
The restaurant/bar that is right next door the the inn is really good too but I forgot the name.

Re: our trip to Mystic, CT labor day weekend
We ate a restaurant called something Oyster Company...it was so good but now I can''t remember the name. We also ate at a little tavern down the road from Mystic Pizza...again sorry my memory is awful. We loved the Marriott though!

Re: our trip to Mystic, CT labor day weekend
If you are planning to go to Mystic - This is the steamboat inn's site and these are the rooms that they offer
Danielle and I stayed in MARIE GILBERT - room 6. Right down the hall from the common room. Very comfortable 4 poster bed. We had a fireplace but didnt use it....
We also stayed in EARLY DAWN room 9. Bed was like a rock. Downstairs, room had outside entrance, right near the lobby and off the parking lot.
Our friends stayed in KATHLEEN - Room 8. It had a nice size living room, and I think the bed was uncomfortable from what I remember them saying. The room has an exterior door that leads to the parking lot.
SUMMER GIRL - Room 5 - They loved this room....It is right across from the common room - In the morning you can smell the coffee and fresh baked muffins....
ARIADNE - Room 1 - We hung out in this room with the fireplace going....and all watched a movie....They liked this room. It is also located down the hall from the common room
All the rooms have large whilrpools and seperate showers.
All the rooms have water views.....
They also have a ship you can stay on.

Re: our trip to Mystic, CT labor day weekend
We went a few months ago for the weekend--it was a nice getaway. We stayed at the AmeriSuites cause we booked last minute and a lot of places were booked. The hotel was nice and right between the aquarium and the seaport area. The aquarium is a little over-rated IMO, we were done with it in about 30-45 minutes (but i may be biased cause we had been at the NY aquarium a few weeks before).
We ate lunch at Mystic Pizza one day which was fun--lots os pics up everywhere. We also had dinner at the resteraunt right at the base of the Mystic bridge--i think it is called oyster company something or other--the food was really good. After dinner we walked over the bridge towards town at got ice cream at the mystic ice cream factory--which was byfar the best ice cream we ever had!! Homemade and yummy!!
The 2nd day we drove around a little, went to the shops and then went to Mohegan Sun at night--we ate at Michael Jordans which was really good. Enjoy!
