White Walls - Color Trim - some pictures added

Does anyone have any photo's of this....is it Old School?

When we moved in the entire main floor was White Walls and Country Blue trim, Molding and chair railing.
We are re-doing one of the bedrooms and were thinking of doing white walls with a green trim (we have new sage green carpet in this room)

What do you think??

Maybe seeing a picture would help to really visualize it but I am not really feeling white walls with green trim. JMHO

I personally like the opposite.. White trim with colored walls-- here are some pics of our place--it's pretty neutral though..

Re: White Walls - Color Trim

We did bashful blue walls (eggshell finish) with super white trim (semi gloss) and a white ceiling (flat finish) in the bathroom.

In a lot of the house we did navajo white walls with super white trim and white ceiling. It is more of a warmer color than just the plain white.

what used to be popular and still is for period homes is ivory walls and a warm colored trim. i really like this look but again it depends on the style and period of your home as well as your furnishings.

do you have a pic?

Re: White Walls - Color Trim

The first picture is of the white wall and blue trim that was in almost every room when we moved in

The next two is the room in question, we painted the paneling, but now we are ready to take down the paneling and start fresh.

Right now this room is our guest room if are stars are ever a lined it will be the nursery.

The rug is sage and brand new

are you planning on keeping the molding blue in the other rooms? if you prefer this look i would soften the walls to an ivory. it is quite a contrast w/ the white and the blue.

how are the other bdrms painted? i would keep the style consistent w/ the other bdrms.

ETA: i think the paneling looks good. blends nicely w/ the color.

Thanks

We painted over everthing in the house already. The white walls with blue trim is all gone. Its now a sunflower yellow in that room.

none of the bedrooms have any style to them right now. We are gutting the two main floor bedrooms right now. The room that will be our master bedroom will be a beige/coffee color with white trim
and the green room is my biggest question on what to do....

sorry, i guess i was confused w/your question.

personally i wouldn't bother ripping down the paneling. it is a major PITA to do so. not only do you have to rip it down but depending on the condition of the walls you then have to either spackle or sheetrock then sand. we have paneling in our den and we just repainted it and put up crown molding. i would do the same if i were you. if you HATE the loook of the paneling, then go for but it is a MAJOR hassle.

if you want to try the colored trim, i would opt for ivory walls instead of white.
