Feeling very emotional today

I went to the doctor yesterday and I had this major weight gain. Then when I told him about my decision to bank my cord blood publically he was pretty skeptical. He was very nice and actually called a patient to see what bank she used because he knew it was much less $ than Viacord or CBR. But I still feel a lot of pressure from him. I am also upset because he charges a fee for the cord blood banking - although he did agree to lower it a little if I needed it. I also have a $500 co-pay from my insurance for the actualy delivery. And on top of it all, Because of the snow, I told DH not to drive into the city for the appointment, so I went alone.

Plus DH has been working so hard the last few weeks. He has had a ton of deadlines and today is the last one. He came home after I went to sleep and I only saw him for a few minutes this morning.

I just feel like I want to cry. Nothing is really that bad of course- I am just feeling emotional. To boot my family is going to a group dinner tonight and we can't go because DH won't be home in time and after he does get home, he needs to shower and change- so it will be too late. I don't want to go without him because Friday nights are the one night we always eat together.

Thanks for letting me vent. I know i sound all whiney to anyone who isnt' pregnant. But I am just feeling sad and stressed.

I am sorry your feeling this way, maybe make tonight's dinner extra special - maybe go out with DH? Rent a romantic movie and just cuddle - I love doing that.

Just think, the weekend is almost here, I am sure you are stressed at work too. Don't worry about your weight gain - you little one is ALMOST here. You will figure it all out. As far as the cord blood, I really don't know to much about it, so I can't help you with that. I just wanted to give you a hug.

I feel that same way today, just blah and not into working and tired. I am jumping down everyone's throat and don't mean to. I just feel like I can never do what I want to, always under orders here. Just an emotional day and it is only 9:45 .

I'm sorry you are feeling down. These pregnancy hormones don't make it easy on us.

I'm sorry your doctor is pushing you regarding cord blood banking. That is completely unethical. My OB refused to discuss it until we'd come to a decision ourselves, and then he was willing to hear our rationale, and tell us what he agreed or disagreed with. We were going to donate the blood, but then at the last minute I decided not to as I'm not allowed to donate my blood in the US, and I was unable to get a clear answer from multiple organizations as to whether I could donate the cord blood. My OB was apalled at how the staff at the hospital kept pressuring me to sign the paperwork to donate it while I was in labor, and how they kept flip flopping about whether they could take my blood or not. They had me sign and then rip up the paperwork about 5 times. He figures that the hosptial gets a kickback from the company for collecting the blood, and finally told them they could not ask me one more time about it.

You have to do what works for you. I think that you've made a decision and you should stick with it. Good luck, I hope you have a good weekend.

trust me I know what you are going through I have had an emotional couple of weeks.........after my doc appt on wed. night I was miserable and crying because there is no sign of this boy coming.......Its all part of the hormone roller coaster!!! feel better and know you are not alone!!

Remember it is PERFECTLY NORMAL to be emotional when pregnant, and you do not sound "whinny" at all. We have all been there at some point or another and we all understand.
The best thing to do IMHO when you feel emotionally overwhelmed is to just ride it out and let your body experience the emotions. You don't have to apologize for feeling emotional. Just let yourself feel it, cry, scream, do what ever you need to do (within reason of course )and it will pass. Feel better.

I am sorry you are feeling this way today. At least it's Friday and you have the weekend to spend with your DH.
