I'm going a little nuts with feeding and the sleeping cycle
There are times when my baby will sleep and times when he won't. It makes feeding him difficult when he's like this. Like for instance yesterday he had like 13 ounces during the day. After a feeding I gave him at 4pm, he would not go back to sleep. At around 7ish. It seemed like he was hungry again but didn't eat much like only 1 1/2 ounces. He stopped after that because he had to poop and was crying because he had to strain to do that poop. After that he was not in the mood to eat anymore. So we left him alone for the rest of the night where he was just laying around in the bassinett. I just put him down and gave him the paci. He laid there for hours and I don't even know what time he fell asleep.
He woke up around 2 ish in the morning for a feeding. So far he's been falling back asleep after the feedings for today but I am dreading the later afternoon feedings where he'll probably do the same. I am so concerned that this kid is not getting enough to eat.
They say feed on demand but again will your baby get enough to eat? The doc says they should eat every 2-3 or 3-4 hours.
Sorry to be constantly bothering you guys with my problems. I know I must sound like a pain in the butt to you guys.

One more thing...if they do stay up for a while: A. Is it normal for a newborn? and B. will they still get hungry?

Re: I'm going a little nuts with feeding and the sleeping cycle
I am really starting to get worried. He was falling asleep at the last feeding. When I put him down he woke up. Now I don't know what to do at the next feeding.
I want to pull my hair out at this point!

Re: I'm going a little nuts with feeding and the sleeping cycle
He seems satisfied after every feeding. When he refuses to open his mouth is when I get the hint that he wants to stop.
I know it's bad but I am letting him fall asleep in my arms before I put him down.

Just sending you some hugs
Its normal new-mommy feelings to feel like this and to wish you had an "instruction manual" Hey listen, Im SUUUURE that I will have questions even with # 3, either we forget (due to losing or minds with the previous kids ) or we simply get the new-mommy syndrome back with each one, but know that its totally normal to go through this "AHHH SOMEONE HELP" at all ages and phases of these kiddoes!
HUGS n KISSES we're here for ya
