Help! Question about serial progesterone test

So I have to go in to do the three days of tests next week and the doctor said that once the OPK turns positive, I should come in the 5th, 7th, and 9th day after. My question is, what if my calculation is a day off? Will it matter, as long as I come in every other day approximately on time?

I got a positive OPK on both Wednesday and Thursday, and a negative on Friday. So doesn't that mean I probably O'd Thursday OR Friday? Will it matter if I do the first day test next Wednesday if I'm really supposed to do it Monday or Tuesday? I am so confused.

Re: Help! Question about serial progesterone test

Since you are going to Cornell, you are being monitored in a way I never was at RSofNY.

Basically, the Dr wants you to come in on the 5th day past the positive OPK. He is checking to see your progesterone increase. Some Re's dont' even check progesterone (not sure why, it upsets me when they don't)....others just check it 7 dpo.

Basically your progesterone peaks usually around the middle of your 2ww. If you are off a day , it won't matter much, as long as you follow the pattern. However, I would try to get there 5 days past first positive opk, 7 days past first positive opk and 9 days past the first positive opk.

Sounds to me like you probably ovulated thurs or friday.

Thank goodness I am heading to Cornell in Jan. It amazes how different that clinic operates.

Re: Help! Question about serial progesterone test

Thank you for the info. So then I will plan to go in on Mon/Wed/Fri next week, does that sound OK? I don't want to go in too early because I don't want the test to say I have too little progesterone just because I messed up the days!

I only had one appt so far at Cornell but when you walk in, you can kind of tell that they know what they are doing, just from the way it is set up. Good luck when you go!
