Is there room for another girl on this board?
Hi Ladies,
I have just officially took what I consider real first steps for my & dh's future.
We have been ttc for a while and had a m/c in July.
Today was our 1st appointment with a Fertility Specialist. We went to a fertility specialist in Brooklyn ( a close friends Uncle).
I am 4 DPO so we will have to wit until AF shows( hoping she doesn't) to start all of the diagnostics.
We did a pap, culture and intravaginal sonogram as well as a lengthy consultation. Instructions for future tests that start after AF. (  )
Even if I am preggo now I will be going back to him to help stay that way.
I am scared, hopeful and gald to be proactive. Took me a while to get here. I would love to get your advice, lurk and learn from all of you special ladies that have spent time on this board.
ETA- I spoke to my friend tonight and told her - I never thought that I would go through such great lengths to have a baby. 5 years ago I wasn't even sure what I wanted. When I finally decided with my heart 2 + years ago that I wanted children, I never thought TTC would be so hard to do

I haven't been on this list long enough to really say "welcome, but WELCOME. I'm in a similar boat as you and your DH. I have my first appointment with an RE next month. My hubby and I have been TTC for 4+ years. I've lied to myself for way too long about needing some professional intervention. Being a nurse really didn't help either. I know exactly ( or at least I think I know exactly) what the RE will say and the next process I'll be going through. Denial has been such a good companion for so long I think I am afraid of a real answer and solution...or what if there is no solution?
I applaud you for taking the next step and for joining this list. It is very comforting to know I am not alone and there are a lot of answers out there I never thought existed.

I am also glad I didn't know I was having a pap, culture and sonogram
( I am the worst most squeamish patient for a gyno- so no time to make myself nuts)
