Hi ladies! I need some support....
I tested positive yesterday, and at 1st was wary about telling people, but I'm so happy, and I have so many questions, that I told a few people.... Just not my family yet....
The thing is - I am going thru so many mixed emotions - we rent a 2 bedroom house, and my stepdaughters stay in the 2nd bedroom on the weekends. We have a big master bedroom and will probably put the crib in there with us...
but, if I am 4 weeks, should I even be thinking about these things?
Someone told me that 50% of all pregnancies end with miscarriage - is that true?
should I "expect" that this may miscarry?
I am so confused right now - we are going on our HM to Thailand Aug. 19th - this was all such a surprise..... The Dr. thinks everything will be ok....
I just can NOT believe I am actually pregnant!!!!
Everyone of our freinds we told are so ecstatic.... And I have moments of such happiness I want to cry, and moments where I wonder if I AM really pregnant....
Is this weird???
Has anyone been shocked at the news, but happy, and at the same time, not really ready to make plans yet???

Re: Hi ladies!
Congrats!!!!
It's normal to start thinking about all types of things as soon as you find out you are PG. I'm assuming this is your first so it really hits you hard. I was in the same boat back in December and as soon as I found out I was already thinking of names and what I needed to buy.
I never heard that 50% ends in a miscarriage. That seems like a really high number. The important thing at this point is to take care of your self. Watch what you do and take some prenatal vitamins.
That's all you can really do. If its meant to be it will be a wonderful pregnancy.

Re: Hi ladies!
Congrats!!! It's totally normal to have a big mix of feelings and emotions right now. Though many pregnancies end in miscarriage, I think 50% is a high estimation. Of course it's always something in the back of any expecting mother's mind, but don't let it consume you. As far as your HM, you should be just fine. The only thing you'll have to do different is that you can't drink. Everything else will be just as enjoyable as it otherwise would have been. The baby will be fine staying in your bedroom for a while. In fact my friends still have their 3 year old daughter in their room. They have a 2 bedrrom house and their 2 sons are in the other room. You'll be just fine like that until you can/do upgrade. Again, congrats!!! And enjoy this exciting time. Have a happy, healthy 8 months!!!

Thanks ladies - I appreciate it - I am normally pretty upbeat and happy - and I still am - but I just hear so many people telling me its so early, and to just be prepared - they mean well, but I'm still moving forward - I just bought the "Bible" - "what to expect when your expecting!"

I just finished Your Pregnancy Week By Week and it was really good. You may want to check that one out also.
I never read the what to expect...but have only good things about this book.
I liked it so much I purchased your baby's first year week by week also!

It suxs that people aren't just being congratulatory. Of course, anything can happen, but they shouldn't get you focused on the negative. And if it makes you feel better, I flew to Nebraska when I was 5 weeks pregnant and everything was fine. I also went on a cruise when I was 23 weeks pregnant, and again, everything was fine. I'm now 28w4d pregnant.

Thanks - they are - but they say - thats great, but remember - its still early... some are telling me I'm ridiculous for even thinking such a horrible thing - so I get mixed "reviews"

Re: Hi ladies! I need some support....
Congrats!! Don't worry. And do not "expect" to miscarry!! I worried lots in the beginning. Try to enjoy the pregnancy. It's such an exciting time. I was definitely surprised. Plus I was feeling amazingly "normal" so it was hard to believe. It took me awhile to think about making plans like crib arrangements. If I were you, I would just let it all sink in slowly. You'll have time to figure everything out.

Congrats!
People are right, anything CAN happen. But that doesn't mean it WILL happen. No matter what people say to you, you are still going to worry and still have mixed emotions.
So my advice is to just take it day by day. Call your doctor. Make your first appointment and go from there.
Good Luck!

Re: Hi ladies! I need some support....
congrats! As I'm sure you have read on these boards you will get alot of unsolicited advice and comments throughout your pregnancy...try to be good to "you" and try not to take things people say too personally (I know,I know easier said than done)Best wishes to you
