Slate Tile for Backsplash
Danielle and I would like to tile the backsplash in our kitchen with 4X4 slate tiles. I went to home depot and bought 4 boxes of copper slate tile. That was all they had in the freeport store. After that I went to East Meadow and Westbury and they did not have any of the tile. Does anyone know of inexpensive stores that I may be able to get 4X4 slate tiles at?

Did you ask someone at Home Depot about locating more for you or having the store inform you when the next shipment is due to arrive? I think that they least they can do for you is try to track down another store that has them and work out getting them for you.

Everytime I go there - there is no one around that area - Its not like Lowes where there are people there to answer your questions - in the tile department

You should try the Farmingdale Home Depot - we found them to be the most helpful by far.

Farmingdale Home Depot is by far one of the better tile departments in terms of service for the Home Depot's in Long Island. Westbury is supposed to be but I have never found it so. I used to work for one of their distributors and have traveled to probably every HD in the Tri-State area. They will call other stores and check for you.

what do the backs of the tile say or if they are in a box what is the brand of the tile and the color - perhaps an online search might prove fruitful?

yep. you could try calling them also, but they may take long ... you might be better off just going in person.
