Christening gift help

So here's the story....on Sunday I am going to be the godmother of one of my best friends son, our sons are three weeks apart and when I christened my son they gave us $$. Now my question is should I give $$ or I was thinking an ID bracelet?? My sons godmother gave him an ID bracelet and I love that he'll always have it. My other concern is that I know my friend could use the $$ so I'm torn. I want the present to be for the baby, but I don't want her to get insulted that they gave us $$ and we gave jewlery. I am also buying the babys outfit. What would you do?

Jewelry is nicer. It will always be something the baby will have as a memory.

I would stick to the jewlery. the gift is for your godson, the money shouldn't go to her if she needs it. It should go into his bank account, jmo...

My sister (godmother to my daughter) gave her a bond and beautiful diamond necklace.

Your godson will have enough money gifts from others, get something that he will always treasure and have.

I agree with you 100% which is why I don't know why I'm so torn!
