Spotting after First internal
Hi, sorry if this is TMI, but I am nearly 38 weeks and had my first internal this morning. The doc said I was 2 cm and thinning out and the head was down really low. I am back at work and have just been to the bathroom and found some blood in my undies......nearly had a heart attack so called the doctors office, they told me that sometimes if you havent had an internal for awhile that you can bleed...did this happen to any of you??
Scared s***less now in case the baby is on the way as we just moved into our house and I dont even have a cradle mattress yet........YIKES.....
Not that I dont believe the nurse at the doctors office but just wanted to see if any of you had this experience?
Thank you so much...

Re: Spotting after First internal
I spotted after my internals, it doesn't mean the baby is coming.

Re: Spotting after First internal
I remember spotting at either my 37 or 38 week internal, but I didn't have the baby until 40 wks, 2 days.
ETA: Good luck!!!!!!!!

Re: Spotting after First internal
I don't know but you should get the clothes washed and things ready because 38 is considered full term, no? The baby could come this week in the next few weeks.

Re: Spotting after First internal
Thank you everyone for your input...I will go home tonight and get the clothes ready just in case...we have been preoccupied with our house move so that is why I am so unorganised.
I think the baby will be okay if born at 38 weeks but 40 weeks is full term...but hey what do I know!!

Re: Spotting after First internal
Just to reassure you my best friend is pG with twins and they are scheduling her for a c-sect at 36 weeks so even if your baby did come early 38 I'm sure is fine for a singleton. Also I read that because you are PG your blood vessels down there are a lot closer to the surface so you would bleed more easily when disturbed as an internal would do.
