Names Question
If we have one will be a junior. I feel bad one will have his dad's name and the other won't. Would it sound stupid or be too confusing if we named one Thomas Patrick and the other Patrick (with middle name)??? Then I feel like at least he gets part of his dad's name.

Re: Names Question
What about giving them another family members name, so one gets one and the other gets the other.
We did FIL's name then my grandfather's name for the middle for one
Name we chose for first and my dad's name for middle.
We gave my dad's name ot the first born to make it fair

Re: Names Question
We are giving both boys the same middle name (their dad's). My DH did not feel comfortable naming one after him and the other not. So we picked out two names we liked and then decided they would both have his middle name.
I think naming one after DH and the other after another family member is a great idea too.

Re: Names Question
Yeah I think that's what we're leaning towards - A name (we love 3 or 4 boys names) then my dad's name, and then Thomas Patrick - after my DH (the baby would actually be the IV. )

This is what we are doing....they will both share DH's middle name

Re: Names Question
My husband is David IV...our first born will be David V...I also feel sad about the next boy we have...will he feel deprived? I asked BIL if he was bothered by not having his dad's name (there is no middle name) he said no...he was fine with it. I think women might feel more sad about this than men...or is my BIL just uneffected?

Good question! I'll have to ask my BIL and see what he thinks. I think you're probably right though, thanks!

Re: Names Question
No, don't feel bad. Just explain to your son that he was the first one born so thats why we named you Thomas Patrick.
I will have a similar dilemma if I have two boys. My husbands name is Thomas too, and he does not think that one boy would feel bad :)

Re: Names Question
I was worried about the same thing since DH really wants a junior. Luckily we are having a boy and girl so problem solved!
