Is your cousin suing someone or does your cousin need someone to defend him/her?
If you have trouble finding someone, you can always look up lawyers on www.martindale.com. You can search by location, practice area, etc.
ETA: If this is a personal injury case, most, if not all, plaintiff's lawyers work on a contingency basis. They typically take 1/3 of the settlement/verdict.
