IVF cost ?'s
I think its time for me to really think about how to do this. Me and DH are going to discuss with the DR of course when we should proceed, but I dont think I can do more then one more cycle of IUI. Maybe 2 more on injects but that would bring us to 10 and after that realistically we need to move on...
Anyway- Anyone would had IVF, did any of you do self pay and if so, can you describe the payments to me? Is it ALL upfront? And if anyone feels comfortable can you tell me how much you paid?

Re: IVF cost ?'s
These are Cornell's prices...IVF must be paid upfront at the beginning of your cycle. They will send you forms to send to your ins. co for reimbursement. Even if you don't have IVF coverage, you may be surprised and get $$ back for sono's and b/w.
IVF fee- $8900 W/ co-culture- $9650 (plus $500 on the day of your biopsy) anesthesia- $750 ICSI- $2500 AH- $1500 cryo- $1000 hospital fee- $784.31 (paid at ER)

Lisa -
What is co-culture? I assume that not all those fees would apply to everyone (i.e. - someone may not need ICSI)?

Co culture is something that Dr Spandorfer developed to help slow growing embryos with implantation. They take a piece of your uterine lining (biopsy) during your LP, and use that in the petri dish to culture the embryos. Not everyone needs it, and you will know before you start your cycle if you are doing it.
You must leave checks or cc #'s for the ICSI, AH, and cryo, but if you don't need it, they won't charge you/cash it.

Re: IVF cost ?'s
Here's the breakdown for 2 clinics I know -
New Hope Fertility - Mini IVF cycle - $4800
NYU - IVF cycle -$ 9,000 ICSI - $2500 FET $3000 Assisted Hatching - $500 cyropreservation $1250 all was due on day 2/3 of cycle
there is also the price of meds - my follistim was $500 a dose!
there are some clinics that have programs that you prepay for a few trials, don't forget to look into grants at your clinic and check out the INCIID grant.
Good luck!!
