A not so expensive Disney trip...
Has turned into an expensive one!
I should of known it was too good to be true!
My sister was suppose to let us use her Disney Resort timeshare for the week so we didn't have to pay for a hotel, but then she realized she didn't have points because it doesn't renew until Dec. 1. (We were originally suppose to go after Xmas, so her points would of been fine). So now I still got a great price, but when you're not expecting it, it feels like a lot. It's costing us $208.00 for a week in a 1BR deluxe w/full kitchen and jacuzzi. My brother pulled through for me and got me the discount. Like I said it's a great price, but money I didn't have to spend. And now the prices have gone waaaay up on a rental car. I can't seem to find one cheap. We can't rent a compact or anything. We need a little bit of room. A couple of days ago I was able to rent a Full size car for $177.00, and now it went up to over $200. That's just too much $!!! We also want to go to Universal and Islands of Adventure, but that's $200 for both of us! Aaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!

Re: A not so expensive Disney trip...
Unfortunately, going to Disney is VERY $$$$. Between admission tickets and just buying little things here and there in the parks it is very costly, without hotels, rental cars, etc.
I'm sorry I'm sure you guys will have soooo much fun, and it will all be worth it

Re: A not so expensive Disney trip...
A full size car is $119 for your whole week on here We bought an Entertainment book for the Orlando area and there are tons of restaurant/dining coupons in there. It might be worth it for you.

Where did you get your Entertainment book and your Universal tickets??? I think it's too late to order anything online since we're leaving Tuesday morning.

I would totally agree to that maybe have just one small meal like lunch or a quick snack and the rest just eat off the property.

Re: A not so expensive Disney trip...
How did you get that rate? Everytime I do it, it's a lot more money?

Hope this goes straight to the cheap car rate!
Slightly cheaper Universal tix...I think you print them from computer
Here's the site for the Entertainment book--you can print a few coupons for Orlando for free
Print your Orlando Magic Card from here for restaurant discounts

Re: A not so expensive Disney trip...
If you order your Universal tix online, you get 2 additional days free, so four days for $99 each for you and DH! Not too bad for $25/day!
ETA: I'll be your travel agent if you'll be my weight watchers consultant!

Re: A not so expensive Disney trip...
I'm sorry maybe the rental cars are just up in price now because of the hurricane situation there? Ive found Enterprise to be cheapest but I usually go to Yahoo travel to compare all prices.
Can you cancel the trip since you dont really have the $?
ETA if you're going around the holidays everything costs more. it stinks!

Wow, where did you find a hotel for $150 for the whole time? Ours is $75/night and I thought that was good. We got airfare on Southwest to Orlando from Islip for $49 each way though.

LOL Southwest was having a huge sale! We booked I think in Sept. though. The regular fares were listed as $79 each way. We are traveling mid-week so the special fares were still available.

Absolutely... or buy the points needed. You can get them for only $10. I'm sorry that you now have to pay...
