Repost from FHF: Anyone familiar with Flushing Meadows Corona Park?
FHF is too slow, and I know there are queens people on here...
My aunt and uncle are in from Florida and we're getting together with them, along with my parents, sister, BIL and nephews on Sunday. We were thinking of going to the zoo at flushing meadows corona park, as well as maybe the carousel.
Has anyone been to the zoo? How big is it?
Any other suggestions for things to do in the park with adults and little kids (2 and 6 years old)

the science museum
we were there with them in march - it was so much fun! If it rains, we'll probably go back.

ooh, good idea. We haven't been there yet, and we really don't live far at all.

there is also another museum there I forget the name of it. Some sort of art gallery and all. Its as if you were going into Shea but you turn right and head towards the ice skating rink. You can get ther from crossing over the bridge if you are walking

The zoo's not that big but IMO its the perfect size for a 6 year old. They get bored and tired after a while.
I second the Corona Ice King! I can't believe you haven't been yet! Next time you're over there you should hit up Parkside too!

I know..we really haven't explored queens much at all since living here. Hopefully we'll have more time this summer.

It's fun to walk around by the unisphere. That's one of my favorite sights in the city.
